The Ducks are on a winter vacation in Scrooge’s mountain cabin. While the nephews play in the snow Donald reads a good book in front of the cozy fire. But Huey, Dewey and Louie can talk their uncle into going to an extinct volcano to glide down from it with their snowboards. However, it is strangely warm on the volcano, with the snow starting to melt, while it has been 20 degrees below zero a short time ago. After a heavy earthquake the Ducks see the presage of a volcanic eruption. The melting snow masses flood them directly back to the cabin. After the eruption the snow disappears in a wide range around the volcano. Donald is satisfied, however, because he can now read his book in peace.

Bill’s twelfth winter story has two flying insects on the last page.

This is Bill’s only comic which was not lettered by himself for the U.S. editions.
