Donald is annoyed at his nephews’ many pets. When Huey, Dewey and Louie bring home Earl, a strayed baby elephant, Donald is dumbfounded. Then he reads about a reward for the reacquisition of the little circus elephant and he concocts a brillant plan. The nephews, disguised as an elephant, are supposed to go to the northern part of the town while Donald will lead disguised Earl south to the circus. Due to a concatenation of events, however, both “elephants” end up in a haystack. Donald mistakenly delivers the disguised nephews to the circus and so misses out on the expected reward.

The title alludes to the Laurel & Hardy film “Pack Up Your Troubles.”
