Huey, Dewey and Louie proudly bring home five gallons of medals which they received for having survived for two days without help in Sudden Valley. Donald brags he could even endure four days there. However, he had better avoided this bet, because bats and a wild bear are a real plague. Finding water and lighting a fire are no easy tasks, either. But fortune favors ducks, and so Donald copes surprisingly well with all the obstacles. A sudden flash flood washes away the nature-boy. Unvoluntarily he rescues the mayor from the hands of two kidnappers and receives heaps of medals for being a hero.

The great outdoors are also populated by 18 flying insects and two funny birds.

The two kidnappers have a strong resemblance to Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.
