In December, an exhibition of artwork dedicated to Carl Barks will open at the Galleria dell’Arco in Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy. William Van Horn made a new watercolor for this show. Among the other contributing artists are Giorgio Cavazzano and Luciano Gatto.
Also, the pictures shown there will be included in the Italian edition of Thomas Andrae’s Barks monography “Carl Barks And The Disney Comic Book: Unmasking The Myth Of Modernity.”
Apart from Bill’s tribute to Carl Barks, we have 3 new watercolors in our artwork gallery.

William Van Horn was nominated in five categories for this years’ Harvey Awards. We’ll keep our fingers crossed!

William Van Horn’s reputation as a comic artist is beyond controversy. It is often neglected, however, that he – similarly to Carl Barks – spent many years in the animation business. This earned him numerous awards and had a crucial influence on his later comic-book work.
For this reason we present a new section about Van Horn’s time in animation. Many thanks to Bill who, in addition to lots of useful information, provided us with 35 beautiful illustrations from his archive.

Probably it makes more sense to lie down on the beach in summer than in spring.
